Castle
Lady Hawk is an authentic castle, not a cheap replica or facade. No expense was
spared in making her the part of this community for which she is so
recognized.
The fireplace mantle dates to the 16th century. Her
stained glass windows come from churches of days gone by. Her massive
30 inch thick, solid rock walls and tower we're built to recreate an
insatiable desire from her owners to follow their dream. After
completion, the couple were later married in the
castle themselves.
She was built in the middle of 60 acres in a remote mountain
community in Western North
Carolina, near Asheville. Originally designed as a private estate, her
owners soon realized that others would also enjoy this one of a kind
estate, as many were asking to be married there. As a result, the
owners decided to make it available to the public for events and
weddings.
Her name was derived from a native, indigenous to the area, during
construction, a Red Tailed Hawk. She would often
fly over giving her mystic call, a whistle for which hawks are known,
comforting her young that were nesting nearby. After
completion of the castle it only seemed natural to name it after the
local resident, The Lady Hawk.
Castle
Lady Hawk stands here today. Her doors are graced by the presence of all that
enter. Visitors are reminded of a time of nobility and of days long
since gone. She
remains nestled in the mountains as a reminder of all that is good.
She is patrolled by a sentinel that can often be heard throughout the
day. She stands ready to greet you for your wedding, renaissance
recreation, or other special event. |
